1998

This year was both a productive and chaotic one for TWO-MIX. First, a single [1] was released, followed swiftly by a "half album" [2] to mark their 3rd anniversary. Two more singles [3][4] were released, then another album [5] was released rather abruptly and unexpectedly. A month or so later, a single [6] and an orchestral rearrangement album [7] were released through a different record label.

Near the end of the year, TWO-MIX officially announced that they were changing record labels. Meanwhile, their now-former record label released a compilation album [8] without any consultation with the musicians.

  1. TIME DISTORTION;
  2. FANTASTIX II;
  3. BEAT OF DESTINY;
  4. LAST IMPRESSION;
  5. Dream Tactix;
  6. TRUTH ~A Great Detective of Love~;

(Also this year, TWO-MIX performed in public for the first time ever. They performed live versions of "LAST IMPRESSION" and "TIME DISTORTION" at a fan-club member-only event held at the Velfarre club in Tokyo.)

1999

TWO-MIX began the year by officially announcing that they had not only changed record labels, but had left their management agency as well, and founded their own called "Little Station". The musicians explained that these changes had been sought in hopes of finding a less restricted environment for creating music.

Through chance TWO-MIX became involved in producing Takayama Miru, who released 3 singles under their supervision [see: related #2]. Much of the year was spent on this new artist, but TWO-MIX managed to release two singles themselves [1][2]. They also carried out "PROJECT FORMULA" which resulted in the release of a video album [3], a single [4], and an album [5].

  1. BODY MAKES STREAM;
  2. MAXIMUM WAVE;
  3. Vision Formula;
  4. Side Formula;
  5. Rhythm Formula

(There was also supposed to be a book titled "ART FORMULA" but this was never realized.)

2000

TWO-MIX decided to put their usual activities on hold for the year and work on the "Infinity Project". Mainly Nagano's pet project, this project involved producing songs specifically for use on the dance floor under the name "TWO∞MIX". The main releases to come from this project were a single [1], a video [2], and a dance rearrangement album [4], but they were involved in other projects as well [see: related #4].

However the "Infinity Project" was not the only activity for 2000. Early in the year, the video album from the previous year was re-released as TWO-MIX's first DVD [3]. Also, Takayama worked with Takayama Miru temporarily as "M*TWO -MinaMiru-", and together they released a single and an album [see: related #2]. Later this same year, Takayama Miru left Little Station and her career as a singer to pursue other interests.
